Colour: Deep, darken, almost black.
Nose: intense and complex with notes of blackberries, blueberries, and prune with great spicy hints, cumin, and white pepper.
Mouth: Powerful and concentrated with nice velvety tannins wrap up by candied black fruits. The finale is buttered, with liquorice of a rare persistence.

Winemakers:

Hervé Froment: Graduated as oenologist and agronomist in Bordeaux in 1979. Since then he has has always worked in the area of the Appellation Cahors. He joined la cave Cooperative des Côtes d'Olt in 1981 and became chief wine maker in 1984. The Côtes d'Olt became part of Vinovalie in 2006. These 37 years spent in Cahors have given him a deep knowledge of the different terroir of the Appellation as well as a great expertise on the worlwide famous Malbec grape as well as the Merlot. All these unique skills have enable Vinovalie to produce Astrolabe Malbec a great Cahors wines which year after year wins many awards. Hervé who is 61 is married and has two daughters. His hobbies are gardening, motorbikes, hunting and enjoying life.
