A fine wine with an intense dark ruby red colour with hints of orange hues. Aromas of red fruits, cherries, raspberries, black currents and discrete spicy notes. Delightful, crisp fruit forward flavours, good length with an excellent tannic structure and a good balance, gently enlivened by polished and  Smooth tannins making for an excellent long and crisp finish.

VINEYARD

Situated in the village of Crézancy en Sancerre, 7km from Sancerre, Domaine Sautereau has been producing Sancerre wines for ten generations.

The surface of the vineyard is 18 hectares and the vines are located on 3 villages: Crezancy en Sancerre, Sancerre and Bue. This allows to enjoy the specificities of different terroirs.

Winemaker David Sautereau uses a blend of old practises and modern techniques to show the terroir characteristics of Sancerre at their best.

Fermentation and Maceration:

Made with the Pinot Noir grape variety. Vineyard located on hillsides in Crézancy, Bué and Sancerre. The soil is made of clay and cilicious. The harvest is destemmed before the alcoholic fermentation. The fermentation lasts during 10 to 15 days where we leave juice and skins to extract a large range of colour, tannins and flavours (fermentation temperature: 30˚C). Aging in stainless steel vats only to keep the original and traditional taste of the Sancerre Pinot. The red wine is bottled after 12 months.
