Critique Review

Attractive nose comprising with white stone fruits and apples. Balanced palate, a leesy hint, good concentration and a lemony tang on the mineral finish.

89/100, IWSC 2019

A nice iodic minerality serves as a central theme for this cuvée from siliceous and hardlime stones soils. The nose develops a nice vitality with hints of flowers, white fruits and pineapple. The mouth, finely chopped, associates crispy and plumpy sensations, and develops a long and succulent finish with orange and lemon notes.

One Star, Guide Hachette des Vins 2022

Vineyard Info

Michelle and Jean-Michel Masson created DOMAINE MASSON-BLONDELET in 1975. In 1980, in the heart of the village of Pouilly, they built a buried cellar on 3 levels to work by gravity. In 2000, their 2 children Mélanie and Pierre-François joined them. They are now the seventh generation of winemakers of the estate. Their 22 hectares of vines of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir are planted on slopes on the best terroirs of the AOC. They are oriented South/South-East and can benefit of a micro-climate created by the Loire River. At this place, the river is classified as a natural reserve. Domaine Masson-Blondelet apply sustainable and natural practices in their vineyard and haven't used any chemical fertilisers for more than 45 years and have stopped the use of herbicides and insectticides since 2002!
