Château Vaugelas grows a 150-ha vineyard on the municipality of Camplong d’Aude, between mount Alaric and the Black Mountain (Montagne Noire) and has belonged to the Bonfils family since 2000. From the 16th century onward, Benedictine monks planted vines on this magnificent terroir made of shaly and gravelly screes brought via the Orbieu river, which runs at the borders of the estate. At the time, Château Vaugelas supplied the abbey of Lagrasse with wine.
