Beautiful young and dark dress. Fruity, vanilla, spicy and peppery, long and fleshy. A supple attack, grain, a pleasant fruity development of black fruits supported by salivating tannins. Wine pairing; duck breast with ceps, wild boar stew with genevievre berries, roe deer sauce.Vintage in image may vary. Refer to wine facts for current vintage.
Over the millennium, many overlapping layers of sediment created the diversity of landscapes and different colors of soil. Everywhere the ground is covered by quartz and stone, mixed with a light sandy soil surface which gives the wine a special finesse. Around 10,000 years ago, a major river erosion dissected the territory and created the patterned ridges and relief we see today, both of which provide excellent natural drainage. The relatively dry land and deep roots of the vine slopes give the promise of great wines. With ideal climatic and geological conditions, the wines of Saint-Estèphe are characterized by their sturdy qualities and robust constitution. So they can age for a long time while maintaining youth and freshness.
