This Gold Medal-winning Champagne is complex, fine and elegant. Matured on its lees for a full three years, it has a delicious biscuity character and a creamy richness. A classic with all the hallmarks of quality Champagne, with brioche and floral notes on the nose and an elegant palate which marries notes of citrus, gingerbread and honeysuckle. First winemakers of Champagne. Of the 319 villages, or crus, they are present in 52 of them. This is a considerable advantage for both the diversity of soils but also to ensure the authenticity of the house and continuity of style of Ernest Rapeneau.
Ernest Rapeneau founded his champagne and wine business in 1901 in the village of Hautvillers, the cradle of champagne. However, it was not until 1927, when the viticultural boundaries of Champagne were fixed, that Ernest began to specialise in the champagne trade.
