Federico Paternina was founded in 1896 by Don Federico Paternina and is now owned by Marqués de la Concordia which supervises 8 wineries and vineyards on the principals wine regions in Spain.
Our Rioja vineyards have clayey-calcareous soil. As per the Rioja system, our Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva wines are authorised and monitored varieties by thie Rioja Control Board. Our Federico Paternina winery has been famously frequented by none other than Ernest Hemingway in 1956, due to his love for Spain and its culture.
